Program summary

Do you want a career where you can use your skills to make a difference? Then Executive Management Trainee program at Belk is a fit for you! This intensive 6 month program is designed to sharpen your ability to drive results through strong business acumen and leadership skills. As a Stores Executive Management Trainee you will gain experience and exposure to various functional areas of the store. You will focus on analyzing business trends while building relationships with executives, customers, and your sales team. You will gain experience through structured shadowing assignments, workshop modules, and formal mentorship during and after the 6 month formal program.

After successful completion of the program you will be placed as a Sales Team Manager where you will continue to develop and:

·         Manage a multi-million dollar business and drive the profitability of that department

·         Lead and inspire a team, creating a culture of service-excellence

·         Analyze business trends and work with store and regional management to influence merchandise presentation and selection

 ·         Bachelor’s degree with a record of achievement, all majors welcomed

·         Leadership skills that include professional business ethics, confidence and self-motivation

·         Demonstrated ability to solve problems and manage complex relationships

·         Ability to prioritize projects and execute multiple tasks to drive sales and customer service

·         Strong business background with ability to analyze data, draw conclusions and take action

·         Willingness to relocate as you advance in your career

Our goal is to show you a career path where you can become the Store Manager of a multi-million dollar business within a 5-7 year time frame. From Store Management, you can be considered for Regional positions, field support roles or corporate positions. Through this program, continuing learning opportunities and on the job experience Belk will give you the foundations to be a successful Stores Executive in an environment where you can manage your career, influence change and drive the business.

• 4-Year Degree with a minimum 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale

• Demonstrated leadership skills

• Strong communication and computer skills

• Retail selling/management and customer service experience

• True interest in Assistant Store Manager and Store Manager Careers

• Willingness to relocate
