Position Summary: The Registry Specialist position is an in-store associate that reports directly to the Home Store Sales Team Manager.  This associate must achieve and maintain standards beyond that of other sales associates.  The goal of each Registry Specialist is to recruit brides, create quality registries, and maximize the opportunity for Wedding Registry sales.  This associate must demonstrate strong clientele skills, provide excellent customer service, handle multiple systems, and communicate actively with store management.

The Registry Specialist will be held accountable for his/her store’s performance to plan for the quantity of bridal registrations.  The Registry Specialist objectives/metrics for his/her annual performance appraisal will be the Belk Registry Specialist Performance Review.  

Essential Functions/Responsibilities:
Bridal Registrations
-Responsible for meeting the store’s plan for bridal registrations.
Customer Service
-Responsible for providing a high level of customer service to support Customer Satisfaction Surveys. (CSS)

Selling
-Responsible for attaining the sales per hour standards established for the area of responsibility.  
-Responsible for meeting or exceeding all other Belk standards related to selling.  
-Responsible for attaining rewards goal on weekly basis as a foundation to growing registry sales.
-Recruitment and Communication with Bride
-Responsible for recruiting brides to Belk to create new wedding registries.
-Responsible for the creation of quality registries that maximize sales opportunity for Belk.
-Communicate regularly with brides through email and phone calls.

Build relationships with brides to ensure customer satisfaction.
-Follow up on all requests by brides for registry updates.
-Be available for returns appointments for brides within scheduled work hours.
-Network with local wedding businesses to recruit brides and establish positive reputation for Belk in wedding community.
-Solicit new registries via telephone using provided and solicited call lists for recruitment.
Merchandising
-Responsible for maintaining product presentation standards as established by Belk in accordance with the store’s guidelines.
-Coordinate with his/her visual team on any in-store event or outside expo.
-Recommend applicable areas of store to bride for cross-over sales.  (Areas include, but are not limited to, fine jewelry, cosmetics and social occasions.)

Training
-Be available for travel to Seminars as offered and approved by store management.
-Share knowledge and information from seminars with other home store associates upon return from seminar or receipt of new information from vendors.
-Be available to watch monthly webinars and share knowledge and information with other home store associates as approved by store management.  

Operations
-Responsible for maintaining housekeeping standards (register areas, stockrooms, bridal desk, etc.)
-Responsible for accurate and thorough completion of all registry paperwork.
-Responsible for timely follow up on all special orders and out-of-stock cards.
-Responsible for having a thorough understanding of the bridal registry system, item locator system, and merchandise transfer system.  
-Accepting of additional duties or sharing responsibility for additional duties during busy times and/or as requested by management.
-Communication with store management
-Communicate current performance to store management as well as fellow associates.
-Communication with store management should include registration performance, selling activity, operational concerns, product knowledge and relevant competitive business issues.

Promotions, Contests and Events

-Responsible for coordinating special in-store events, signage, customer contact, and ensuring appropriate set up and follow through for all promotions, contests and events.
-Responsible for working with sales managers on execution and follow up regarding event preparation, set up, etc.
-Responsible for informing other associates and all customers regarding promotions.
-Responsible for planning and execution of outside bridal events supported financially by BSS.  (Where applicable.)

Product Knowledge

-Expected to be well educated on product and attend vendor product knowledge seminars as they are available and approved by store management.
-Review and utilize Product Knowledge Manual provided for reference.                  
-Share vendor product knowledge with customer appropriately to increase registry sales.

Weekly Responsibilities

-Track performance to goal for bridal registrations and share performance with store management.

Requirements/Qualifications:
Education & Experience:
•    No education requirement.
•    Experience in retail preferred.
•    Excellent communication and customer service skills.
•    Computer skills.

Physical Requirements:
•    Ability to use computer keyboard, standard telephone and other related business equipment.
•    Hand manipulation to remove sensor tags
•    Ability to push / pull 100-500 pounds when moving stock carts
•    Task demands vary in each department because of the different types of merchandise.  Stocking requirements can involve reaching above & below shoulder level and lifting 25-50 pound boxes

Miscellaneous:
•    Must be able to work a flexible schedule including evenings & weekends, due to shift rotation.
•    Must be available to travel to pertinent training seminars.
