Position Summary:

Position Summary

The principle purpose of the Digital Merchandise Manager is to drive the strategy and business results of an assigned online category of business with the goal of meeting/exceeding sales, turn and margin.  The Digital Merchandise Manager is responsible for optimizing customer experience through digital marketing and site presentation. 

 


Essential Functions/Responsibilities:

Major Responsibilities

·         Responsible for eCommerce sales, turn and margin goals as well as total company sales for a category of business.

·         Develop and manage assortment plans and ensure proper inventory flow, item depth and size/color penetrations to support strategy.

·         Complete and review OTB monthly and partner with buying teams to maintain appropriate inventory levels. 

·         Identify and execute drop ship and online only vendor, category and item opportunities to expand breadth of assortment.    

·         Identify in season opportunities through sales performance analysis and provide informed recommendations to buyers.

·         Work closely with Product Managers to ensure effective brand marketing and online merchandising while recommending and maintaining appropriate inventory levels.

·         Develop and execute marketing strategies for weekly promotions, brand boutiques, seasonal shops and brand launches to drive online and enterprise sales. 

·         Complete all steps of advertising process in collaboration with Digital Experience team to ensure effective promotional gels, emails, mobile, interactive and social campaigns.

·         Support corporate and emerging trends with marketing and site content.

·         Complete competitive analysis on vendor matrix, assortment composition, site content and trends. 

·         Analyze and react to key site metrics to optimize customer experience and drive sales, conversion and AOV.

·         Merchandise site for best customer experience through Endeca boost & bury, taxonomy maintenance and search optimization.

·         Partner with IT team to report site and workflow issues. Partner on future ideas, strategies and projects to continually improve sales, user experience and site optimization.

Requirements/Qualifications:

Position requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 3+ years retail experience as an Associate Buyer, Assistant Buyer, Planner, Assistant Planner or Web Merchant.  Ecommerce experience preferred.
  • Understanding of online search and online marketing a plus.
  • Proficient in business-related computer software (Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, Endeca, Coremetrics or other web analytic software package, etc.)
  • Excellent analytical and reasoning skills including clear retail math skills.
  • Solid organization, written and verbal communication skills a must.  The Digital Merchandise Manager must be able to handle a heavy workload and prioritize multiple projects.  
  • Ability to work in a deadline-driven environment and must be able to work both independently and as a team player to execute the merchandising vision.
  • Proven project management and vendor management experience.

  • Available and able to travel as needed.
  • Able to see and distinguish colors.
