eCommerce - Conversion and Onsite Search Specialist

Position Summary:

The Conversion Specialist is responsible for management of revenue driving activities outside of normal day to day category promotional spots utilizing rule-based merchandising, dynamic product assortments, dynamic personalized content insertion and A/B testing on Belk.com.  This position will report to the Sr Conversion Specialist, and may partner extensively with the Content Strategist to ensure coverage at all times on all functions.

 


Essential Functions/Responsibilities:

Essential Functions

A Conversion Specialist will be expected to perform in the following areas:

 

Ø  Monetate Tool

 

·         Help develop and implement best practices for business rules and related processes across all Belk.com content for Monetate personalized offer engine.

 

Ø  SOLR Search & Browse

 

·         Review weekly onsite search reports to identify keywords returning zero results for products carried on Belk.com, keywords not bringing back the entire product assortment, and keywords needing thesaurus entries for similar terms. Highlight keywords needing attention and deliver to Sr. Conversion Specialist with comments made in Comment Field for fine-tuning to be performed in search tool and platform. 

·         Review weekly sales ad books, promotional flyers, and magazine ads to identify onsite search related problems for terms used in ad titles and product names that are different from those used on belk.com. Circle ad titles and products needing attention and deliver to Sr. Conversion Specialist with comments made next to ads for fine-tuning to be performed in search tool and platform. 

·         Master SOLR search tool, providing key leadership on direction and request help from IT as needed to improve the tool, ultimately improving search results & conversion rate.

 

Ø  A/B Testing

 

·         Assist with A/B Testing by partnering with Web Merchants, User Experience, Content Strategy, Creative, Web Analytics, and Front End Developer teams to identify, implement, test, and analyze A/B Testing.

 

Ø  Reporting & Analysis

·         Partner with Conversion Specialists, Web Analysts, Web Merchants, Planners and Digital Marketing teams to compile, analyze and present reporting information to internal stakeholders.

·         Provide weekly actionable reports and analysis detailing insights and opportunities

 

Ø  Exposure to Monetate and Product Recommendations

·         Assist in project management of Monetate content development.

·         Partner with Conversion Specialists, Content Strategists, Interactive Marketing, UX and Web Merchants to gain solid understanding of merchandising and promotional strategy.  At times, assist with creating dynamic personalized offers and optimize rule-based merchandising opportunities throughout the year.

Additionally, this role requires the ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume, multidiscipline environment with the ability to manage multiple time sensitive priorities, accelerated timeframes and quickly adapt to changes in priorities.

 

 

 

 


Requirements/Qualifications:

Position Requirements

·         BS in business, marketing or computer-related field or equivalent experience

·         STRONG understanding of SOLR search tool preferred

·         Minimum 1 years eCommerce experience

·         Minimum 1 years of project management experience

·         Minimum 1 years Internet merchandising and Internet marketing experience

·         Minimum 1 year of web analytics experience

·         Experience in A/B or Multivariate test planning, execution and analysis

·         Strong understanding of Microsoft Excel a must

·         Solid understanding of direct response marketing theories

·         Experience in product recommendation business tools

·         Ability to make connections between data and business goals

·         Solid understanding of Online user behaviors, Web Analytics, and Internet technology

 

Physical

·         Available and able to travel as needed.

·         Able to see and distinguish colors.

·         Able to sit for a long period of hours
