Position Summary: Drive credit sales and penetration, new account solicitation, Belk Rewards loyalty program and best customer metrics by directing strategic efforts of our 3rd party credit provider. Additionally responsible for driving in-store and B2B gift card sales and ancillary product sales (offered through the credit card statement).
Plan and coordinate credit marketing activities which maximize Belk Credit Sales, Belk Credit penetration and the number of Belk credit accounts solicited. This includes direct mail, in-store events, activation programs, and maintaining in-store credit knowledge and disciplines. Responsible for Gift Card sales.
Essential Functions/Responsibilities:
- In conjunction with GE and Sales Promotion, develop an overall payments marketing strategy to optimize our sales and customer loyalty; resulting in sales growth and customer satisfaction.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve Belk Rewards card penetration of total sales.
- Get Sales Promotion buy-in to the payments strategy- calendar, direct mail, special events.
- Present 3 year payments plan to Belk Senior management.
- Execute programs supporting specific payments objectives through partnership with GE, Stores, and Sales Promotion
- Prepare financial budget for credit marketing.
- Develop and implement strategies regarding our Belk Rewards Loyalty program to drive customer and associate benefit awareness and incremental sales. Monitor Belk Rewards Loyalty program and make recommendations as needed to adjust the program to meet strategic credit objectives.
- Work with Advertising to ensure proper credit signage is in place to support events.
Accurately forecast results and explain variances
- Develop and implement strategies to drive store engagement in soliciting new Belk Rewards cards applications in order to achieve our credit solicitation goal.
- Develop and present information to divisions, store managers and associates on how Belk Rewards card customers drive incremental sales.
- Work directly with GE Field Sales leader and Field Sales Mgrs as they support the stores in credit training/education to support the company’s credit solicitation goal.
- Work directly with Division credit champs (RVPs) to ensure that credit strategies are implemented.
- Act as an operational interface for credit operations with other departments, including GE.
- Develop and implement strategies to drive Belk Gift Card sales as a % of total sales (in-store, B2B, belk.com and third parties).
- Manage third party gift card providers- Hallmark, Blackhawk, etc.
- Support financial budget preparation for gift card and operational areas through accurate and timely analysis and forecasting, explanation of variances.
- Develop and implement strategies to increase ancillary income derived thru mailer sales in credit card statement
- Manage operational aspect of billing of ancillary products
Requirements/Qualifications:
- 4 year College Degree- preferably Marketing related
- 5 years Credit Marketing experience.
- Thoroughly familiar with Excel, Word and PowerPoint
