Position Summary:
Responsible for designing and implementing the compensation strategy and programs for the company.  Scope includes programs for exempt and non-exempt as well as executive compensation.  Activities will involve base compensation, short and long term incentives, commission and special bonus plans.  Will assist management in the development of the company’s compensation philosophy, policies and objectives.
Essential Functions/Responsibilities:
  • Lead compensation strategy by recommending variable compensation designs, short and long-term incentive programs that enable the attraction, motivation and retention of talent.
  • Ensure company is in compliance with compensation laws, IRS/DOL regulations and SEC disclosure requirements.
  • Develop Internal Compensation & Board Compensation meetings materials
  • Plan and manage the year-end merit, bonus, LTI processes to enable a positive end-user experience
  • Collaborate with HR Business Partners and Business leaders to understand people strategies and the impact to compensation.
  • Provide expertise to HR Business Partners, HR Design Centers, and Managers regarding compensation questions, evaluating new positions, grade levels, job descriptions, promotions and transfers.
  • Build and sustain collaborative relationships at multiple levels in the company. Work through competing points of view of key stakeholders to achieve best resolution for the business.
  • Understand the business strategy and how compensation programs align to the strategy.
  • Embrace cultural/individual differences with empathy and leverage this to make informed decisions.
  • Manage and negotiate contracts with external consulting partners.
  • Support M & A activities as they relate to compensation.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive communication and change management strategy to improve understanding of the company’s compensation programs.
  • Formulate and implement approach for evaluating jobs, establishing salary structure and job grades
  • Conduct appropriate market competitive analysis and deliver results to inform the effectiveness of the compensation programs
  • Establish compensation policies and practices to enable compensation governance, streamlined management reporting, and standardization where appropriate
Requirements/Qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree and/or equivalent years of experience
  • 8 or more years of applicable experience
  • Specific work or project experience: Leading a team of 4 or more staff; Experience in designing and administering enterprise wide compensation programs; Preparation of board compensation committee materials and annual proxy disclosure.
